Ji Seung Shin(Director) |
|
Director Ji Seung Shin has put community, life and nature on film
screen unlike commercial film productions. His film making process
is different from that of the commercial film which usually is produced
by a few experts of the field. His film is a creature of villagers
who involves in the whole process of the film making with experts.
His film sticks to the subject such as life, nature and community
which are the roots of our life. To him, film making is a movement
in his own way. He has invigorated urban-rural exchange and made
village festivals such as "Goodun Village Film Festival"
and "Moonlight Film Festival" for 10 years. He carved
out a new concept, "village film". He visited more than
80 villages and made films there with the villagers for the last
10 years.
He has fulfilled his role as an art film director who needs to
concern about social, environmental and ecological issues of our
time. He strongly believes that the film is a good medium to link
up human beings and nature. We can imagine ecologically sustainable
future through his camera.
